Miss Rachael
About me
Hello! I’m excited to introduce myself as an experienced educator with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, majoring in TESL. Over the past three years, I have taught a variety of students, beginning as a KSSR national teacher in a primary school, where I conducted English and Science classes online. I'm currently teaching English to students for national primary and secondary school, as well as Cambridge Year 7-9 English and Science subject. I believe that a teacher's role is to facilitate learning and inspire students to reach their full potential. I strive to create interactive and engaging lessons, helping students to develop their passions and achieve success in their studies.
Currently working as reading specialist teacher, I teach pre-reading skills, reading and comprehension skills, writing skills and proper grammar. I also teach oral presentation and communication skills. I help children to develop social skills, positive classroom behaviour and use positive reinforcement for classroom management. As KSSR teacher, I experienced teaching online in English and Science subject for a year in a national primary school. I need to develop and maintain high standards of teaching based on current accepted methodologies as reflected in the National Education policy and requirements of the school. I do planning, preparing and sharing appropriate teaching aids as required. I need to provide wide range of activities, projects to stimulate motivation, creativity and learning. I was required to monitor the progress and problems of all students in the subjects concerned and provide for the special needs of slow and fast-learners. I also assigned a role as chess advisor teacher where I run the chess extracurricular activity online with the students during the period as a KSSR teacher.
I have been teaching for the last three years. I used to be a KSSR national teacher for a year in a national primary school. I taught primary one to three students for English and science subject for the school online via Zoom Meeting and LearningTigers platform. I also taught students for their Cambridge Year 7-9 English and Science subject, preparing them for their checkpoint exam. I taught English subject for primary one to six, secondary students, form one to three and form five students. I choose to teach because I believe that a teacher takes role as a facilitator and inspires students to do the extra mile. I want them to become someone who could develop and reach their full potential. I would like to build successes on the things I'm passionate in. I am strived to make my lessons more interactive and engaging to the students.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a major in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL). Throughout my studies, I developed a strong foundation in language acquisition theories, pedagogical practices, and curriculum development tailored to diverse learners.
In my free time, I enjoy reading motivational books that inspire personal growth and resilience. I also have a passion for music, playing both the guitar and piano. This allows me to express my creativity and explore various genres, whether I'm strumming a favorite song or composing my own pieces. Additionally, I love baking and experimenting with new recipes, particularly in pastry art.
